Unseasonably Warm

That's the news this morning. At least that is the news that I'd like to focus on. 

Since the recent election results have divided the country I am reminded as to why I have chosen to live on the hill. There are no riots here. With the exception of an occasional neighbor getting a little over zealous while watching the news at the clubhouse during his beer, there is no pseudo-intellectual pollution affecting my day.

Unseasonably warm is the weather forecast. In the 70's and partial cloudy. Maybe some rain later in the week. Maybe not. These are the things that make me worry a bit. I'm looking forward to rain and snow this year. The sooner the better. 

Bring on the days and evenings of being locked in the cabin playing cards with my family and friends around the fire. Allow me to feel the silence in the air and hear the snow crunch around tree trunk bark warming like a frozen iguana stretching his head. Winter cannot come soon enough for us.

Here on the hill time has no reason to move swiftly. The time will change soon enough and the seasons will come and go at their own pace. I don't worry about any of it. However I do look forward a bit to one special day that I'm certain will come this next year. That's the day when the golf course is green. When the trees first spit out their leaves in light golden green brilliance that happens over night. The day when the forest wakes shaking her head and hands of dew and everything is alive. I look forward to that day!

​But today? Unseasonably warm. Beautiful. Crisp and 70's. The kind of day that causes folks to take a ride, visit an open house, enjoy a day followed by an evening with dinner and dance.
