It is in the air!

No. Not necessarily Springtime. Not yet. But it is starting to feel that way.

​Perhaps folks who couldn't get up the hill through the snow bunnies and CHP have finally chipped their way along. This last weekend we had visitors as if it were Springtime already. Kim and I welcomed five new families to the hill over this last month and more are on their way here, thanks to this last weekends group of lost souls stumbling upon our quaint little village.

​While we look forward to the sun being a part of our everyday in the near future again, I begin to wonder if we received enough snow and rain for the year. Weather reports say that the state is coming out of the drought. Records snow / rain fall throughout the state are helping our ponds and lakes, brimming water cresting over the edges. I think we need more.

​Can we handle much more? Where will that water go?

​It seems to me that our community would benefit by taking the time to create more "storage" areas; little ponds and lakes along our green belts and around our hiking trails stretching from the tops of our mountains to our valley floor. I cannot be the only one thinking about this. Hopefully someone who actually knows something about this sort of thing is working night and day to figure this out before we miss our chances to hold this water for our future usage.

​I guess we shall see. Last year we were watering only greens and tees on the golf course by mid July. We will circle around on this discussion this summer and possibly measure what was done to protect our resources by the length of time we are able to continue to water and how lushes green our courses and trails appear.
